Farewell Service for Jonathan Patterson

The Cookstown Independent Methodist Church was filled to capacity on Friday 2nd December 2011 for a special farewell service for Jonathan Patterson who is going to work for the Christian Institute at their headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne. Many friends and family had travelled from all over the country to be present for this special milestone.

Matthew 24 v 36,37 “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of Heaven but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.”

2011 has been another year whenever predictions have been made that Jesus will return again. The American TV ‘Evangelist’ Harold Camping, gained notoriety owing to his prediction that the Rapture would take place on May 21, 2011 and that the end of the world would subsequently take place five months later on October 21, 2011. Followers of Camping claimed that around 200 million people (approximately 3% of the world's population) would be raptured. The so called prophet has proved his predictions false once again. But will Jesus return this year? We must go to the scriptures to find the answer!
